There are weddings that are beautiful, and then there are weddings that leave a lasting impression on your heart. Nate and Madison’s wedding at Pomona at Blue Barn in Hilton, New York was one of those days.

As a Rochester, NY wedding photographer, I have the privilege of witnessing so many incredible love stories, but this one carried a special meaning long before the wedding day even began.

A Full Circle Moment

Fourteen years ago, during one of the most difficult seasons of my life, Nate’s mom, Louisa, was a PICU nurse while my daughter was in the hospital. After our daughter went to Heaven, Louisa showed our family an incredible act of kindness that I have never forgotten.

So when Nate reached out about photographing his wedding to Madison, I immediately knew this was going to be a wedding that would hold a very special place in my heart.

It truly felt like life had come full circle.

Getting Ready at Pomona at Blue Barn

The morning began with laughter, excitement, and anticipation as Madison and her bridesmaids got ready inside the beautiful bridal suite at Pomona at Blue Barn. Every detail was thoughtfully planned, from her elegant pearl earrings and timeless gown to the soft pink florals that perfectly complemented the summer wedding.

One of my favorite detail shots from the morning was Madison’s stunning engagement ring nestled inside a blooming peony—a perfect reflection of the romantic style woven throughout the entire day.

An Emotional First Touch

Before the ceremony, Nate and Madison chose to share a private first touch instead of a first look.

Standing on opposite sides of a doorway, they reached around the corner to hold hands without seeing one another. It was one of those quiet moments where time seems to slow down. The anticipation, excitement, and emotion on both of their faces made for some of my favorite photographs of the day.

These intimate moments often become some of the most cherished memories because they allow couples to connect before walking down the aisle while still preserving the surprise of seeing each other during the ceremony.

A Beautiful Outdoor Wedding Ceremony

Their ceremony took place outdoors beneath a floral arbor under the beautiful summer sunshine.

As Madison read her vows, emotions filled the air. There wasn’t a dry eye in sight as she paused to hold back tears while sharing promises with Nate. Their heartfelt words perfectly reflected the deep love they have for one another.

The ceremony ended with cheers, applause, and a joyful first kiss as husband and wife surrounded by family and friends.

Portraits Filled with Timeless Elegance

After the ceremony, we captured portraits throughout the venue, taking advantage of the clean architecture, elegant doors, and beautiful natural light that make Pomona at Blue Barn such an incredible wedding venue near Rochester.

Madison looked absolutely stunning in her timeless gown while Nate’s classic navy suit paired beautifully with the soft pink florals. Every photograph reflected not only how beautiful they looked, but how comfortable and genuinely happy they were together.

As the evening approached, we snuck away for sunset portraits—and Mother Nature absolutely delivered. Golden light wrapped around the newlyweds, creating the perfect ending to an unforgettable wedding day.

One thing that truly stood out throughout the day was how amazing every vendor was to work alongside. From the planning to the execution, everyone came together with one goal—to give Nate and Madison the wedding day they deserved.
